Nellore city is the administrative headquarters of SRI POTTI SRI RAMULU NELLORE DISTRICT. Nellore is suitable on the Chennai-Kolkata Highway, or NH5, Which is an integral part of the Golden Quadrilateral Expressway Project undertaken by the Indian Government. Nellore is known for the production of mica and gold jewelry. Apart from these two, aquaculture and cultivation of paddy are two very important engagements of the people of Nellore.
